RECESSION IS FINALY OVER

More information has been released on how economic recession in 2016 forced more than 100,000 Nigerians to migrate to parts of Europe.
Of the number, about 37,000 landed in Italy in search of greener pastures.
This was disclosed by the President of Italy’s Chamber of Deputies, Laura Boldrini, who on Monday, paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara.
According to the Chamber president, both Nigerian and Italian governments were yet to find a solution to the saga.
She said the need to check terrorism in Italy has made it imperative for the authorities to start a new way of checking the ugly trend, capable of promoting chaos if allowed to continue.
According to her, the fear of terrorism, which is taking dangerous dimensions may force Italy to take other measures, including deportation.
On whether the immigrants entered Italy legally or otherwise, Boldrini said she would not like to be specific to avoid being misrepresented.

“More should be done to provide jobs and other social amenities to Nigerians as the only way to discourage such embarrsing picture that the country is being subjected to”, Boldrini stated.
Apparently worried by the report, Dogara described the development as sad and called on foreign investors to come into Nigeria as a means of helping the country to overcome some of its challenges.
“If Italy could encourage its citizens to invest in the economy of Nigeria, the truth is that for us to deal with terrorism, illegal migration, trafficking and cross border crimes, we have to address the issue of bringing prosperity to sister countries so that citizens are catered for and jobs are provided.
“This is the time for the world to come together to fight against terrorism and one of the ways of achieving this is for the developed economies to help in supporting fighting terrorism in countries that are burdened by internally displaced persons”, he stated.
