Boko Haram : A Second Bomb Blast Destroys Block Industry In Maiduguri

A bomb blast, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday in Jajere area of Maiduguri metropolis, destroyed a local block industry.

An eye witness, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on condition of anonymity, explained that the bomb was planted on the road from where it later exploded to hit the block industry.

He, however, said nobody was killed or injured in the blast as it was very early in the morning and many residents were still indoors.

The Operation Commander of the Joint Task Force(JTF) in Borno, Col. Victor Ebhaleme, confirmed the incident (bomb blast), adding that security had been beefed up in the area.www.mannastores.com

Bayelsa State Governorship Election: PDP Screens Out Gov. Timipre Sylva

The high stakes game to remove the current governor of Bayelsa state, Timipre Sylva,  from the line up of People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidates for the upcoming governorship election in the state appears to have taken hold.  A few minutes ago the  Gubernatorial Screening Appeal Committee of the PDP in  Bayelsa State released the names of three candidates approved as gubernatorial aspirants for the upcoming governorship elections in the state. The name of Timipre Sylva was excluded by the committee.

However, the committee cleared Youpele Kalango, Christopher Enai and Henry Seriake Dickson as eligible candidates.

A statement jointly signed by the former deputy governor of Ekiti state,  Mrs Abiodun Olujimi and  Alhaji Abba Anas Adamu stated that  only the three candidates are eligible to contest the governorship elections in the state, leaving out Timipre Sylvia who was reportedly removed for operating foreign accounts and Silverbird TV owner , Ben Bruce, who the panel claimed had dual citizenship.www.mannastores.com

Amy Winehouse Died From Drinking Too Much Alcohol

According to the long-awaited coroner's inquest into the sudden death of Amy Winehouse at 27; the singer passed away after consuming an excessive amount of booze.

The report stated that Amy died of "misadventure," since she voluntarily put the liquor into her system.

The unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels (of alcohol) was her sudden and unexpected death," the coroner wrote.

A 6-storey building collapsed yesterday evening in Maryland, Lagos. The Don de Dieu Plaza, which was located at 11, Aderibigbe Street, was occupied by over 10 companies as at the time it collapsed. Over 350 people escaped death as they had been evacuated before the building collapsed.

The evacuation took place because prior to it's collapse, the building shook to its foundation and occupants and neighbours heard a very loud noise yesterday at about 3pm, giving signs that all was not well. Less than two hours after all the occupants had left the building, it collapsed. No casualty was recorded. Thank God! www.mannastores.com

Boko Haram says killed journalist for spying

Boko Haram said it killed a state television cameraman because it had evidence that he was an informant for the security services, and the group warned it would kill anyone else who "steps on our toes".

Alhaji Zakariya Isa, a journalist working for the government-owned Nigerian Television Authority, was killed on Saturday by gunmen who attacked him at his home in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, in the far northeast where Africa's most populous nation borders Cameroon, Niger and Chad.

World Bank Chief Cautions GEJ Over Fuel Subsidy Removal
